Behind the scenes with Gerald Hinde on location at Savanna Private Game Reserve
Our days usually start earlier than all the other game drives going out of the lodge so that we can track and find animals before the light is optimal. Once we have located a subject, we usually stick with them for almost the entire day. Here, the Euphorbia male leopard – dominant on the northern bank of the Sand River on Savanna – walks past us as Gerald works on some low-level shots. This is the perfect leopard habitat and may well be my favorite piece of Africa.
